S692: Statistical Consulting Internship
The Consulting Internship is an opportunity to apply statistics training to real-world projects in real-time. Students will work in the Indiana Statistical Consulting Center (ISCC) two mornings a week to meet with students and faculty (clients) requesting assistance with data analysis. Clients come from a variety of fields on campus and outside IU as well. Interns will help talk through the projects, give advice, do research on specific methods, and help with analyses. ISCC's professional consultants will oversee and direct the students, but the interns are also expected to be comfortable communicating directly with clients and work independently to meet their needs. The semester will culminate with a final portfolio of written reports that the students complete for two or three of their projects from the semester.
